OT Minister Visits Port

UK Overseas Territories Minister Mark Simmonds continued the afternoon schedule of his one day visit to Grand Cayman with a visit to the George Town Port where he received an update on the proposed cruise berthing project on Tuesday, 5 November 2013.

Accompanied by Her Excellency the Governor, Mrs. Helen Kilpatrick, CB, on her first visit to the port, the Minister was hosted by Deputy Premier and Tourism Minister Hon. Moses Kirkconnell, JP and Ministerial Councillor Mr. Joey Hew. Also in attendance were Port Authority Board Chairman Mr. Errol Bush, MBE; Port Authority Director Paul Hurlston; Ministry Chief Officer Mr. Stran Bodden, JP and other officials.

Minister Simmonds got an update about the financial viability and the way forward with the proposed cruise berthing project from PriceWaterhouseCoopers' Mr. Simon Conway, whose firm is contracted as the project's financial services consultant.
