Queen Honours Commissioner

Police Commissioner David Baines gains the OBE

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has recognized Commissioner of Police David Baines in the 2014 New Year's Honours List.

A senior police administrator with nearly four decades of experience in challenging positions in the United Kingdom, Mr Baines is named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of services to policing in the Cayman Islands.

In addition Her Excellency the Governor, Mrs Helen Kilpatrick, CB has named two recipients of the Cayman Islands Certificate and Badge of Honour (Cert. Hon.)

Dr Saratchandra (Sarath) de Alwis-Seneviratne will receive the honour for services to medicine, as will Thomas Magnus Wood for services to the Civil Service. Both men are also recognised for their contributions to the community.
