Training Set For Finance Mgrs
Public and private sector financial management professionals can get current with best practices in managing public sector resources and network within their field, at an upcoming conference organized by the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants.
Registration has just begun for the third Government Professional Development Week which takes place 11-14 November 2014, at the Marriott Beach Resort.
Among various topics, the week of discussions will focus on change management, with a session dedicated to Government’s response to the Ernst and Young report. A visiting former senior Canadian civil servant is also expected to outline that government’s experience with managing for results.
Other sessions will include ethical decision-making, implementing risk management, managing information technology security risks, developing assurance frameworks, human resources and personal development.
Premier Alden McLaughlin, Deputy Governor Franz Manderson, and Finance Minister Marco Archer are on the list of presenters. Also on the roster are Financial Secretary Kenneth Jefferson, Auditor General Alastair Swarbrick and Complaints Commissioner Nicola Williams.
There is a minimal registration fee of $100 a day. The Civil Service College has sponsored 120 days of attendance by civil servants.
