Premier Tours DEH

Premier checks out the lab equipment.

Premier Alden McLaughlin visited the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) last Tuesday, 21st April 2015.

Mr McLaughlin, who is Minister of Home Affairs, Health and Culture, toured the administrative offices, and labs as well as the George Town Landfill compound. At both sites, he met staff and learned about day-to-day work within each section.

During the tour, DEH officials briefed the Premier on topics such as food testing and garbage disposal, as well as the operations of the new fleet of trucks that now serves residential and commercial areas.

Councillor Roy McTaggart, Chief Officer Jennifer Ahearn and Deputy Chief Officer Nancy Barnard also joined the tour.

Among upcoming visits are: the Health Services Authority, including Faith Hospital in Cayman Brac, Public Health Department, Department of Environmental Health (Cayman Brac offices), the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, the Cayman National Cultural Foundation and the Cayman Islands National Museum.
