Ministry of Commerce Releases Tender Details on Small Business Workshops.
The Ministry of Commerce has released details on the tendering process behind the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce being awarded a contract for the hosting of small business workshops.
Acting on behalf of Government, the Ministry received a total of four proposals, between May and June 2015, from suitably qualified vendors for the coordination of workshops on relevant business topics for small and micro businesses. The contract was awarded on 25 August to the Chamber, and it requires the Chamber to host 12 workshops that cover disciplines such as accounting, human resources and marketing.
The contract includes funding for workshop management services including venue booking and audio-visual equipment; advertising; workshop materials and personnel costs. The total value of the contract, as agreed between Government and the Chamber, is CI$12,025.00.
The Ministry’s Deputy Chief Officer Tamara Ebanks signed the contract. She said the workshops, part of Government’s enhancements for small business, centre on improving local commerce.
‘The Chamber, with the help of their membership, will start their sessions this month,’ she said. ‘Having the private sector take on the workshops will allow the previous hosts, the Department of Commerce and Investment, to better focus on serving the licensing and regulatory needs of the local business community’.
