Honouring Women’s Month begins
The Cayman Islands began its observance of Honouring Women’s Month on Saturday, 5 March, 2016 at a church service held at the King’s Seventh-Day (SDA) Church.
The day was a dual celebration as the first Sabbath in March is also observed by the assemblies of SDA worldwide as Women’s International Day of Prayer.
Premier, Hon. Alden McLaughlin along with the Minister of Gender Affairs, Hon. Tara Rivers and Minister of Community Affairs, Hon. Osbourne Bodden attended the service in support of the integral role that women play in the community.
In his address to the congregation Mr. McLaughlin said, “Many of our forefathers and mothers were praying people who continually prayed for God’s grace. The evidence of those answered prayers and the prayers that are still said without ceasing for our country is a Cayman Islands blessed beyond measure.”
