Conch and Lobster Seasons
The RCIPS would like to remind people that the open season for Conch and Whelks starts on November 1 and runs until April 30. The open season for Lobster starts December 1 and runs until February 28.
It has been brought to our attention that some people still consider October 1 as the opening of the season. Anyone found to be taking conch, whelks or lobster out of season will be dealt with according to the law.
People should also be aware of local laws relating to Marine Parks and the quantities of specific species they’re allowed to take.
- Conch catch limits: 5 per person or ten per boat, whichever is less
- Whelk catch limits: 2.5 gallons of whelk in shells or 2.5 pounds of whelk without shells per day
- Lobster: 3 per person or 6 per boat, whichever is less
