Great Design Challenge
Students, families and friends in the North Side area, as well as in surrounding communities, are encouraged to attend the finale of the primary school’s ‘Great Design Challenge’. This combined academic/social event takes place this Thursday evening, 25 January, at the school compound.
Created by the school as a way to bring the North Side Primary School students together with non-traditional assignments, the event demands creative as well as academic talents, and has challenged the participants’ brain-power with a series of ‘design’ games over the past two weeks.
These games have included puzzles and problem-solving events which will be judged. The small teams will be evaluated on the cleverness of their designs, on teamwork, and on how well they meet the challenges.
The evening will start at 6:30pm with poetry reading, and continue with the project presentations, and then with the final challenge, which will be followed by presentation of the winning trophy.
School officials noted that this project also aims to bring together parents, families and extended supporters of the school community in an informal setting. Refreshments will be on sale by the school’s Parent-Teachers Association.
