Public Holidays 2009
The list of public holidays for 2009 is now out with the exception of the Queen's Birthday official holiday, which is as yet unconfirmed.
While the Queen's Birthday will be officially celebrated in the Cayman Islands as a holiday on a Monday in June 2009, the actual date will be announced after the announcement of the UK's official observance.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her actual birthday on 21 April. However, the official celebration takes place in June.
In the UK, the official Queen's Birthday observance takes place on either the first, second or third Saturday in June. In Cayman, however, her birthday is observed on the Monday following the Saturday designated as the UK's official observance.
