The Tribunal meets on a weekly basis.
A hearing on the grounds under section 22(1) of the Immigration (Transition) Act, shall be on the basis of the written grounds filed by the appellant and neither the parties nor their representatives shall be present at the hearing.
Section 22 (7) of the Act states – neither the appellant nor the representative of the appellant shall be permitted to be present at the rehearing of the original application which shall be based on written submissions with respect of fresh evidence or changes in circumstances.
Minutes and outcomes of meetings may be requested under FOI as detailed in section 5: Requests for information outside the Public Scheme. Each request will be decided on a case-by-case basis, but it is likely that most material will be exempt under section 23(1) of the FOI Act and the Data Protection Act, as it would amount to the unreasonable disclosure of personal information.
This Tribunal shall meet on such occasions as, in the opinion of the chairman, may be necessary or desirable to ensure an efficient and timely disposal of appeals.
