How to obtain a Visa

Persons requiring a visa for entry into or transit through the Cayman Islands must apply online by clicking on the link provided above to access the Visitor Visa Online Application Form.

The below list of documents (not exhaustive) should be ready for upload before beginning the online application. 

  • A non-refundable fee of CI$92.00 or USD$112.20 to be paid with a credit/debit card.  We do not accept payments using American Express cards.
  •  Full face passport sized photo.
  • Bank Statement.
  • Evidence of your current employment or studies.
  • A valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining.
  • Original signed and sealed Police Clearance Certificate, less than six months old, from last place of residence.
  • Children under the age of 18 will be required to produce a birth certificate.

It helps the Caymanian authorities to assess your application if you can show evidence of your personal circumstances, which may include bank statements, evidence of assets or other sources of income.

  • Evidence of your marital status.
  • Pay Slips.
  • Evidence of any additional sources of income.

The documents listed below are additional requirements to be provided for In-Transit Visa Applicants where applicable:

  • Copies of all valid Visas held for other countries.
  • Evidence of Residence Status in another Country, other than the Country that issued your passport. 

Multiple-entry visas

Multiple-entry visa are available, and may be issued at the discretion of the Visa Issuing Officer. To apply for a multiple entry visa, check the appropriate box on the visa application form. The processing fee for a multiple-entry visa is the same as the fee for a single-entry visa.

How long does it take for a visa application to be processed?

Seven to ten working days after the application has been submitted to the Cayman Islands Visa Office.  Processing times may vary during peak travel periods.

Visa Nationals who do not require a Visa

A person who is not a prohibited immigrant* and who satisfies a Customs and Border Control Officer that he is:

         I.    authorized by a work permit to work in the Cayman Islands; or

       II.    a person named in a work permit as a dependant of the licensee; or

     III.    a person who is exempted from the requirement to possess a work permit or a dependant of such a person under section 53 of the Immigration (Transition) Act (2022 Revision); or

      IV.      a person who has permission to reside permanently in the Cayman Islands; or

        V.      the holder of a valid re-entry permit

is not required to produce a visa on entering the Cayman Islands even if he is a national of a country that would otherwise be required to possess a visa.

 

* Prohibited immigrants are defined in full in the Customs and Border Control Act but include the destitute, the mentally disordered, persons creating health hazards to the community, anyone reasonably believed to be a prostitute or living on prostitution, anyone previously deported, anyone convicted in any country of an offence for which a prison sentence of twelve months or more was imposed, and others declared to be undesirable immigrants for economic or moral reasons.
