Cost of Living Support

For the past several years, the cost of living has been increasing in the Cayman Islands and globally. This was increasing before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and it has worsened in the past 6 months due to supply chain issues and the rise in fuel prices because of the war in Ukraine. We are living in some of the most challenging times in recent history.

The Cayman Islands Government has taken more than a dozen substantive actions to lower costs for some of the most vulnerable people in our society – lower- and middle-class families, our senior citizens, and post-secondary students. There are also a number of initiatives about to be rolled to the public in the coming months.

How We're Helping

We provided much-needed financial support to those who were suffering from reduced income due to the pandemic.

- Extending the Displaced Tourism Worker Stipend for another year
- Providing financial support to employees who had to quarantine and
could not work to earn their salary
- Enabling small and medium-sized businesses to protect their assets
Containing Your Costs
We are helping households manage their costs by:

- Reducing fees of government services for Seniors
- Reintroducing private school grants to help the families that rely on private early childhood education centres and other education institutions
Empowering You
We are providing Caymanians with tools that empower them to make the right decisions.

- Offering a $1500 travel stipend to scholarship recipients to get their visas to ensure that Cayman's youth has the support necessary to be successful in their educational pursuits
- Removing the mask mandate and pre-arrival testing for travellers empower the public to take personal responsibility for their health and safety
Caring For You
We are helping people cope with the stresses of life by investing in thriving communities
