HOW DO I APPLY?

WHEN DO I APPLY?

Applicants may apply after 14 days in isolation or when released by Public Health.

If you have not completed your isolation or are further required to complete another period of isolation, you can also apply for the stipend after that isolation period ends, resulting in multiple payments.

WHO CAN APPLY?
  • Applicants must have completed a Public Health directed isolation which is non-traveler related.
  • Applicants must be Caymanian, a Spouse of a Caymanian or a Permanent Resident.
CAN I APPLY IF I AM GETTING A SALARY OR STIPEND ELSEWHERE?
  • Applicants must attest to not receiving a salary from their employer, or be a self-employed person who is not able to work from isolation.
  • Applicants must not be an existing recipient of the Tourism Stipend.
  • Applicants must not be receiving any holiday pay or similar compensation.
WHAT PAYMENT CAN I EXPECT?
Successful applicants will receive a stipend in line with the Tourism stipend, valued at KYD$69 per day that they were scheduled to work but were unable to due to quarantine.  This will be in one lump payment after quarantine is completed.
WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I HAVE TO PROVIDE?
Applicants must be able to provide the following documents:
 
  1. Document from Public Health mandating isolation or quarantine
  2. Proof of immigration status (e.g.: Cayman Islands voter registration card, Caymanian Status Certificate, Right to be Caymanian Certificate, RERC Spouse of a Caymanian Certificate, or Permanent Residency Certificate).
  3. Last pay slip or an official job letter
  4. Current or last employers name and contact details (email address and phone number)
  5. Banking details for electronic funds transfer or postal address (for cheques)
Self-employed
If self-employed, applicants must produce a copy of their Trade and Business Licence or other information that verifies their income.
 
Note: Not providing the required documents may lead to the application being deferred.
CAN I APPLY WITHOUT AN ISOLATION MANDATE LETTER FROM PUBLIC HEALTH?

Applicants can request a quarantine letter from Public Health mandating their isolation. Once the letter is received from HSA, it must be uploaded when applying for the Ex Gratia stipend using this online form.

CAN I APPLY FOR EACH QUARANTINE OCCURRENCE?
Yes, applicants may apply for as many times they were mandated to isolate, provided that wages were lost each time.
