The Leader of Government business in October 2005 asked the Law Reform Commission by Government to review and modernise the landlord and tenant legislation in the Islands.
Terms of Reference
As a result of myriad problems which arose between landlords and tenants after the passage of Hurricane Ivan in September 2004 the Leader of Government business in October 2005 asked the Law Reform Commission by Government to review and modernise the landlord and tenant legislation in the Islands. The review commenced in 2005 and culminated in a Final Report and Bill in March 2007.
Outcomes
The Residential Tenancies Law was passed in 2009 but is not yet in force.
