How to Report A Scam

If you see an ad or post on Facebook or Instagram that looks suspicious, take a minute to report it. Your action helps remove harmful content and keeps the platform safer.

How to report via social media

To Report An Ad: 

  • In your Feed, click the three dots on the upper right of the ad. 
  • Select "Report ad" and follow the instructions. 

To Report A Post: 

  • Go to the post and click the three dots on the upper right of the ad. 
  • Click "Report post", choose the reason, then click Submit. 

Your reports help Meta review and remove content that goes against their policies. 

Tip: You can also Unfollow, Block, or Unfriend accounts to avoid seeing similar content in the future.

How to Report to RCIPS Financial Crimes Unit via the Police Station

If you see a suspicious post or ad online, especially one using the name or image of a government official,

  • Take screenshots of the post and make a note of the course link/URL.
  • Take this information to the Police Station and file a report.

This information helps investigators track the sources spreading this misinformation.
