The Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) supports the Deputy Governor and Chief Officers by helping them define their assurance needs and by reviewing the adequacy and reliability of the assurances they receive.
ARAC provides independent scrutiny of the systems and processes that underpin good governance, effective risk management, and a sound control environment. It examines whether internal audit plans are well targeted, whether risks are being properly identified and managed, and whether financial statements and controls are robust.
The Committee also tracks audit findings and monitors whether agreed actions are being implemented. Its role is to give senior leaders confidence that the assurances they rely on are complete and fit for purpose.
