British Citizenship Registration
As of May 21, 2002, all Naturalised citizens are required to be registered as a British Citizen before becoming eligible to apply for a British Passport.
Once you have received your Naturalisation Certificate at your Pledge Ceremony, you will receive a British Registration Checklist. The fees and documentation that will be required to apply will be listed on this checklist.
One of the requirements stipulated by the UK Home Office is that the applicant must ensure that they have met the “good character requirement” by showing due regard for the laws of this country. Failing to do so may result in your application being refused. Please note that your application may be refused for the following:
Complete Application Form
The correct application form is the B(OTA) form and should be printed in colour.
NB. Please do not mark sections which do not apply to you.
Once your application has been submitted, it will then be sent to the UK Home Office for processing. This process is estimated to take between 6-12 months. Once the application has been approved, the Registration Certificate will be generated and sent back to our office. You will then be contacted to attend a Pledge Ceremony to obtain your certificate. Once this final step has been completed, will you be eligible to apply for a British Passport.
