Government to Strengthen Fuel Sector Regulation
The Government has approved drafting instructions to strengthen oversight of the Cayman Islands’ fuel sector, advancing reforms that will enhance public safety, improve consumer protection, and establish a more sustainable regulatory framework.
Quality of Life satisfaction in the Cayman Islands rose to 84.0%, up 1.1% overall
Quality of Life in the Cayman Islands improved in Fall 2025, with overall satisfaction rising to 84.0% (up 1.1% from Fall 2024). Caymanians reported slightly lower but faster-improving satisfaction at 82.9% (+1.2%)
The Average Annual Inflation Rate is 1.3% for 2025
The average inflation rate for 2025 is 1.3 per cent, with the second quarter recording the highest quarterly increase of 2.0 per cent.

Organisation & Functions
The purpose of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development is to develop, implement and maintain macroeconomic and budgetary policies and maintain measures; to manage the finance of the Government and exercise supervision and control in all matters relating to the financial affairs of the Cayman Islands.
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development is made up of the Economics and Statistics Office, Risk Management Department, Treasury Department, the Finance Administration and Customs. The Ministry also includes the Minister's Office, Office of the Financial Secretary, Central Tenders Committee, Risk Management Advisory Committee, Risk Management Unit, Corporate Unit, Central Procurement Office.
