Cayman Islands Civil Service College and UCCI Partnership

The Cayman Islands Civil Service College (CSC) and the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) have formed a strategic partnership to expand
formalised learning opportunities within the Cayman Islands Government. This collaboration signifies a robust commitment to advancing education and professional development across the Civil Service sector.

Through this partnership, both organisations are dedicated to providing industry-specific training that ranges from certificate to postgraduate levels. They will develop bespoke programmes tailored to the evolving needs of the Civil Service and recognise transferable credits through a prior learning assessment process.

What are the benefits of this partnership?

  1. Accelerated admissions process

  1. Consideration of prior learning and experience

How will prior learning be assessed for adult learners in the workplace?

Prior learning assessment (PLA) will be conducted for adult learners in the workplace. This will include the acceptance of ILM, FBC and other Civil Service course credits, subject to a prior learning assessment process, as well as other credits subject to a PLA process. A PLA portfolio outlining prior experiences and credentials will be required to be considered for credit, along with transcripts.

How do I apply to benefit from this partnership?

If you are interested in pursuing studies with UCCI, you should:

  1. Apply directly to the University College of the Cayman Islands for your desired programme

  1. Once you have been accepted into the programme, review the degree plans available at UCCI Degree Plans and identify the courses you would like to apply to the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) for gaining credits. Refer to the Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio Guide for further details - click here to download

  1. Develop a portfolio with supporting evidence and submit it to UCCI via email: ppaul@ucci.edu.ky.

  1. Your portfolio will be assessed, and you will be notified if the credit is approved and recorded.

Be sure to follow the application guidelines and deadlines provided by both UCCI and CSC for a smooth application process.
