A Life of Service

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II oversaw a period of unprecedented social change and advancement across the United Kingdom, Commonwealth and Overseas Territories in her more than 70-year reign. In this time, she became a much respected figure globally and a symbol of unwavering loyalty and devotion to those she served.

The Queen's dedication to public service was a hallmark of her time as Monarch. As the Head of the Commonwealth, Her Majesty unified and advocated for more than two billion people worldwide. An important part of this were her many historic overseas visits, including two to the Cayman Islands in 1983 and 1994.

Her Majesty remained closely associated with hundreds of diverse charities throughout her lifetime that advanced the cause of wide ranging issues, from opportunities for young people to the preservation of wildlife and the environment.

Through the award of twice-yearly Queen's Honours, The Queen recognised and celebrated people in the United Kingdom and around the Commonwealth for their significant contributions and positive impact to the world. On many occasions, people in the Cayman Islands have been the recipient of this prestigious accolade.

In June 2022, the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrated her 70 years on the throne, an achievement never before reached by a British Monarch. The occasion was suitably marked with global events held across the United Kingdom, Commonwealth and Overseas Territories.

Her Majesty's legacy of lifelong service will be forever remembered.
